At least once a week, someone asks me where I get my clothes and since I live in a small town now, I don’t have access to as many stores as I once did and it’s a lot harder to find unique items. So my answer is always… online!
But let’s be honest. When it comes to online shopping, the struggle is REAL! It’s so convenient but it’s hard to know what fits and if it doesn’t, returning it can sometimes be impossible. It’s totally overwhelming.
After some trial and error, I’ve found some great places online to get stylish affordable clothing without spending a fortune.
Here’s my list of the best sites for online shopping:
ASOS is my favorite and changes are if you asked me where I do most of my shopping I’ve said ASOS. They have so many options to choose from whether you want classic or contemporary and with free shipping (over a certain dollar amount) and free returns, it’s so easy to order a couple things at a time and send back what you don’t like. It’s basically like a dressing room in the comfort of your own home! They do carry lots of different brands so sizing can sometimes be hard to figure out but if I’m between sizes, I’ll order two and then send back the one that doesn’t fit since returns are free. I recently got this skort that I have been wearing non-stop.
It’s probably a good thing that I don’t live close to an actual Zara store. The clothes and accessories are so affordable and are always so trendy that I have a hard time controlling myself. I love buying trendy pieces that aren’t expensive because you don’t get as much wear out of them so it’s best to invest in classic styles. That’s why Zara is such a great place to get the more fun and trendier pieces without spending a fortune! Once again, they offer free shipping (over a certain dollar amount) and free returns so if you don’t love it, you can just send it back!
Since I work from home, I don’t need a lot of tailored or professional clothes but when I do, J.Crew is my go-to! They are always sales (earlier this year, everything was 40% off) so it makes everything more affordable! Plus, my J.Crew pieces last me a lot longer than some of the less expensive items I buy so it’s worth the splurge every once in a while. BONUS: I love J.Crew swimsuits! I have a couple and wear them all the time. They are high quality and hold up well when doing water activities. I have this suit and this one in red and black.
Lulu’s also offers free returns which (if you haven’t noticed already) is something I look for when I’m online shopping and they also have the BEST party/wedding dresses! I’ve worn their dresses for bachelorette parties, bridal showers, and weddings and each one has been perfect for the occasion. They are inexpensive too which is great in this day and age when you can’t be caught dead in the same outfit twice. 😉
Like most girls my age, I love Free People but often when you come across it in stores, it’s very overpriced, which is why I love shopping for Free People online. They are constantly updating their sale section and most of the time if you keep an eye on something you’ve seen in person, you can get it for much cheaper online. The only downfall is that returns aren’t free but you can take anything back to a store if you have one close to you. (I’m wearing one of my favorite Free People dresses in the video below!)
What websites do you use to shop online? Let me know because I’m always on the lookout for new places to shop!
