I’m certainly not a bridal expert but a fun fact that I love to share is that I have been a bridesmaid 10 times. Yes, you read that right. I’ve been in 10 weddings. And you know what the craziest part is? A lot of my closest friends aren’t even married yet! So I like to think that with all of that experience I do have some good insight on what to wear for bridal events.
Let me give you a little backstory about why I decided to write on this topic. A couple of years ago, I tried to launch this blog but it wasn’t very good so I never told anyone about it. As I was building this new blog, I looked back at some of my old posts (which I hadn’t checked in YEARS) and saw that one of my blog posts was surprisingly popular even though I had never promoted it. And do you know what it was about? What to wear to a bridal shower!
Picking out what to wear to a bridal shower depends a lot on the bride’s style and the time of year but if you want my opinion (which I assume you do since you’re reading my blog), a dress is always an appropriate choice but the hardest part is knowing what type of dress. Go for something light and flowy but not white and not too revealing so you don’t steal the bride’s spotlight. I’ve picked out a pink dress, a dark maxi and a floral dress similar to what I’m wearing in the pictures above to give you an idea. I also threw in a jumpsuit because I love it and want to wear it to the next wedding shower.
I like wearing outfits to bridal showers that can either be dressed up or dressed down depending on the bride and the venue, and something that I know I can wear for another occasion. For shoes, I’d throw on some earrings and a pair of wedges or sandals and save the high heels and stilettos for the wedding.
Hopefully this helps you know how to dress for a bridal shower whether it’s your first… or your 50th!
Should I do more posts on what to wear to a wedding or a bachelorette party? Because I have plenty of experience with those, too. 😉 Comment below and let me know!
